I had Vegas2Handbrake working in Vegas 13-453 before I installed HOS and it still works. I never had Vegas2Handbrake running in Vegas 14 or 15 and haven't felt the need to install it since I've started using HOS.

I went ahead and removed all the V2H programs and scripts just so everything would be fresh, no chance of conflicts and what not. I got it installed, went through the install notes procedures as best I could. All of the settings are rather terrifying so I don't know where to begin. I think I will start a new post with my particular need, in case someone else has the same need.

"However, Marco, the developer (also an early HOS alpha tester), would be in the best position to give a definitive answer."

All I can say is Vegas2HandBrake is still working on my system while HOS is installed but I don't use Vegas2HandBrake anymore.

Thank you Marco.

@wwaag, I think maybe I discovered a bug. In RenderPlus, I chose Regions for "what to render." and I selected hibernate for "after render." I watched it render the first region and after it finished, it shut down Vegas, and popped a hibernate in 60 secs dialog. So only one region was rendered. According to the help file, it should render all the regions. Am I doing something wrong?

Additionally, I tried doing it with the RenderEvents feature, but I couldn't figure out how to use the avisynth script with that.

I'm looking for a way to render all of the regions on my timeline into separate files, one after the next without any intervention from me.

UPDATE: I did it again without the hibernate option checked and it appears to be working. So maybe the only bug is there. The hibernate should happen after all the regions are rendered, not just the first one :-)

When I install HOS, then Vegas2HandBrake is not working anymore.

But I dont need it when I can use HOS ;-)

I hope that the Beta will persist for a longer time or that you can buy a license for a reasonable price.

Greetings from the Black Forest; Germany

@MikeLV

Thanks for the bug info regarding Hibernate. I'll put it on my list to fix.

RenderEvents does not support the use of Avisynth Scripts. It is strictly a rendering tool that permits use of either Vegas render templates or x264 templates. It was designed primarily for pre-rendering events. Only Render+ and AviDub support use of such scripts. In my view, AviDub is really the premiere tool and offers the greatest potential for open source filtering.

I have another tool you might be interested in trying. It's an MP4 file joiner app that does not require Vegas. It's similar to the file joiner feature for regions inside of Render+, except there are a number of joining techniques and also an option to re-render the audio inside of Vegas to insure proper audio sync. Let me know if you're interested in giving it a try. It's not part of the HOS tool set.

@rainer-d

The beta period has been extended through the end of March. At that time, it will either be extended again, or a license will be available for purchase.

The Black Forest--such a beautiful region. My wife and I have had the good fortune of visiting that area a number of times over the past 40 years. We still have a cuckoo clock running perfectly that we bought in Triberg in 1978. Good memories.

@wwaag, sounds good! I've also noted another possible issue, maybe it's fixable. For example, when I start the encoder, Vegas does its thing, and maybe I switch to a web browser while it's encoding. When it finishes the first region, sometimes what happens is when the Framserver window comes up, it somehow gets on top of the other application I'm in, and basically locks me out until that region is finished. If I switch to Vegas while the next region's audio wav is saving, then it doesn't happen. Does it make sense what I'm saying?

wwaag wrote on 2/1/2019, 11:15 AM

Have you tried the Run Minimized option on the main dialog?

@MikeLV

Hibernate after regions render. I cannot replicate the problem you described. I've done multiple regions renders with hibernate selected and it always completes the renders, closes Vegas and then shows the hibernate screen giving you the opportunity to abort or hibernate now.

Since updating to the new 1.0.2.52 build, In Render + > Render mode> Advanced >  avisynth filter settings dialog, Vegas Pro 16 crashes (Vegas Pro has stopped working) if a former build user preset is clicked...  so 'Default' or a new preset must be used, a minor annoyance, however, I cannot delete the older builds filter settings that cause a crash if I click one by mistake.  Is there a way to delete my old  avisynth filter settings without fully resetting HOS or re-install w/o saving the old settings? Thanks

wwaag wrote on 2/19/2019, 1:01 PM

@rraud

Delete the following file: "C:\ProgramData\HappyOtterScripts\Magix Vegas Pro\RenderPlus.xml"

Alternatively, right-click on the R+ icon and select Reset Script Settings which does the same thing.

A minor annoyance? I would consider that pretty major. Upgrade to a new version should be pretty seamless. Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at that code.

BTW, the folder "C:\ProgramData\HappyOtterScripts\Magix Vegas Pro" gives the user a wealth of information. Within each folder, corresponding to specific tools, the exact command lines, avisynth, and virtualdub scripts are provided including logs and debug files. Have a look. You can easily see what's "under the hood".

WOW, Thanks, that was easy. Aside from that, upgrading HOS to the new version was seamless through the HOS 'Help' menu, where the update procedure was 'as plain as the nose on yo' face;. Thanks again, HOS just gets better and better.

Former user wrote on 2/19/2019, 1:49 PM

So far, this is the more stable version of HOS and also the best. Thank you Wayne!

Jep wrote on 2/19/2019, 5:39 PM

Hi Wayne. I just updated from version 1.0.2.51 to the latest release 1.0.2.52. As soon as I clicked on the Avisynth gear in Advanced mode Vegas crashed immediately. I repeated this 10 times or so with exactly the same result.

So I tried installing version 1.0.2.51 over the latest release but again clicking the Avisynth gear caused Vegas to crash.

Finally, I uninstalled HOS completely and installed 1.0.2.51 from scratch, and now it's back working fine again. Don't know if anyone else has had this problem but it's something you might like to look into.

BTW - I absolutely love HOS. Really hope you continue to develop it and that it stays around for a long time.

Best Regards.

Oooops!!! - Just spotted rrauds post and your reply above 😆.

@wwaag

No luck downloading 10252

Gmail - no email

Yahoo - I get a .part file and 0 kb .exe

Can you drop it in my Dropbox folder, or are the .dll files you sent 10 days ago up to date?

Musicvid wrote on 2/20/2019, 12:38 PM

@wwaag

never mind it resolved itself and I got a working .exe

wwaag wrote on 2/20/2019, 2:00 PM

@Musicvid

Here's a tip. The easiest way to download a new version or re-download is click on the help Icon which brings up this dialog.

Click on check now and you will get this dialog which enables you to either download a new version or re-download.

There is a problem with gmail in that it tends to send messages to the spam folder. At some point, I need to have a dedicated IP address for the HOS website, although that may or may not solve the problem. This is a widely reported problem, but not much in the way of solutions.

Ah, meaning I don't have to register again. You've thought of almost everything.

Hi guys, I tried a few times but cannot get past the reg screen, first the captcha does not show up at all, then I get the error shown in the screengrab. I guess the issue could be at my end, I will try again later but maybe this needs looking at. Using Chrome latest - Windows 10 latest. :-)
