Every time I use Movie Studio, at some point it stops responding, and must be restarted. This happens more often when I am using big files or multiple small ones, usually around once every ten minutes. I am using a Microsoft Surface Pro 2017. I have no idea how to fix it and I have lost a lot of work from it.
I highly recommend you go to the nVidia or AMD site and ensure you have the latest driver for your graphics card. Don't trust Windows to do it for you. The latest nVidia GeForce update, for instance, is dated August 17.
@CSM-Yarrumbak Try going to Options/Preferences and the File I/O tab. If the first box (Hardware decoding) is ticked, untick it. Restart VMS to see if this makes any difference. It may reduce smoothness of preview but might also avoid your crashes.
