I know of no way to adapt the interface of version 11 for high-resolution monitors, Michael.

Have you considered updating to version 13, which is designed to work on a variety of monitors?

Adding to Steve's comment, VMS 13 has a some of it's buttons and controls enlarged so that you can use "touch screen" computers. I don't have one, so can't verify it, but I watched a video. I think if I had a Surface Pro 3, I would upgrade just to find out how well it works!

This new UI with "touch-friendly" big buttons/controls in v13 happens to be something that many existing users have found annoying. It's comforting to know that there are users there that actually may need it.

Have no experience with previous versions, I'm not finding the UI and issue.

Bill,
if you do a search on this forum, you'll find a lot of previous posts commenting on this new UI.
I commented early here that "eventually many of the users (like myself) with large monitors (or bad eyes) will appreciate the new look UI, as complaints about small icons have occasionally been made as well."
Some of us (me incl.) suggested that a separate Touch Screen version might have been created.
See e.g. here.
