How do I remove BlueFX transitions from Movie Studio 16 Platinum?

Long time happy user of Sony Vegas Movie Studio 7 but had problems importing MOV files so I decided to upgrade. I thought with the upgrade that I'd also get tons of new transitions that were "deceptively" shown in the upgrade promos on the Magix website ... but only after forking over my $90 for the upgrade did I come to realize that I was misled ... I can only get the new transitions if I fork over an addition $200 bucks! Screw that. I'm fine with the included transitions (which appear to be the same as those I've used in Movie Studio 7). The annoying problem is that the BlueFX "trial" transitions vastly outnumber the INCLUDED transitions and I find myself spending more time than I'd like searching for something I can use without "activation."

Since I have no plans to buy these pricey add-ons, I'd like to REMOVE these BlueFX transition icons from my menu selections altogether - as well as to prevent the super annoying prompts to log into New Blue website every time I start a new project.

I'm still pissed off about being misled, but maybe I'll find some redeemable new feature in this new version to justify the $90 outlay. The interface is newer, but the "functional features" seem to be the same. So far, I haven't found any "native" feature that truly impresses me that I couldn't have accomplished with a few more steps using my old Sony Vegas Movie Studio 7.

For example:

  • I could bypass the MOV file import problem (which persisted even after a Quicktime install) by first converting to some other supported format using free Windows Movie Maker
  • I could screen capture (including sound, which I haven't been successful in getting with the new version. I get video w/o sound no matter what I've tried) by using any of several free open source programs.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who knows how to get rid of the extra "PAY-US-EVEN-MORE-MONEY" features ... as well as from those who disagree with my one week old assessment of Movie Studio 16 Platinum ... specifically my belief that it isn't substantially different than Sony Vegas Movie Studio 7. Please point out what I'm missing.

Thanks

There actually is an error in the Movie Studio 16 Platinum product pages regarding the "NewBlue Transitions Ultimate" package. According to the video, there are "over 400 presets in 37 compelling plugins" ("only") [in "MS Transitions Ultimate"]. The product page (not the Comparison page) under the video does say that it would include the "NewBlue Transitions 5 Ultimate" package, which has 65 plugins. The non-5 Ultimate comes "free" with MS 16 P, but needs to be activated. See e.g. here post #6 how to uninstall.

I never had Sony Vegas Movie Studio 7 (only MSPs 10 to 16), so I cannot compare it with v.16. But you can read about the new features of the MAGIX versions (14 to 16) in this forum's NEWS section (Messages and Patches). They are also listed in these links, where you may get a notion of anything substantially different.
