How many computers can you use the video editing softwares on?

I am interested in purchasing a video editing software but my current Mac is over 8 years old and can die any day now. I don’t want to buy the software, have my computer die, and have to buy it again. Is it possible to activate the software on more than one computer/transfer the software over to a different computer? Thanks

You can, normally speaking, run Vegas on two computers simultaneously; in addition, you can temporarily de- authorize a given machine and then reassign to a third if you'd need to. Now, that is for the purchased license, if you'd be on the 365 plan (rental) you only get one license, but you can also reassign the licence to another machine if you'd need to.
