interesting! I'm having exactly the same problem. I recently installed VEGAS Movie Studio 15, I'm new to VEGAS, I'm just starting to try it, and the VEGAS Movie Studio 15 is acting like a malware, everytime I start the windows I'm spammed with advertise from Magix to upgrade a software that I already paid and I just starting to learn.

I need a way to disable those stupid ads or I'll just uninstall this trash from my computer.

Try this

It's probably "Magix Connect" which you most likely installed along with your Vegas software.

Go to your Windows programmes and uninstall it but don't get confused with "Connect". It's Magix Connect that you need to deal with.

Re: 'Magix-Connect' Spyware. Thanks everyone. I was just about to uninstall Vegas because of this intelligence insulting pop up sales advert when I came across the comment from FayFen. I have now unchecked the 'news-feed' tick box in 'properties'. If this doesn't stop the adverts I will definitely uninstall. How any company director can believe that intentionally installing spyware onto their customers computers under the pretense of 'keeping them informed' is quite simply beyond my understanding unless they are kids themselves (no experience) or making so much money they really don't give a crap. From my experience any company, such as VEGAS, that doesn't provide an email address or telephone contact number should be treated with suspicion. I note the company has not responded directly to this forum listing so I hereby challenge them to: VEGAS PLEASE RESPOND!

@Bob-Finch Bob, whilst you are entitled to get upset is this petty intrusion into your life really worthwhile getting uptight about especially given the world's pandemic situation at the moment. Plus not to mention global conflicts and leaders of concern.

What makes you consider it spyware? That's quite an outrageous comment to make. Do you have evidence to support your statement? Much of the software I have tells me about updates available, new versions etc. I appreciate it doing so. Some of it doesn't provide the option to turn it off like Magix Vegas does. I hope they won't waste time responding to your challenge. Stay safe.

@Bob-Finch in your own topic you were given a link to a clarification in 2017 from the VEGAS Community Manager at the time. See here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-movie-studio-advertising-notifications-pc--122556/

(I am closing that thread to avoid double postings as you chose to continue here.)

To repeat the link: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/what-is-magix-connect--108737/?page=1#ca670846

That whole thread is still available.
