How to remove the menu from a Sony DVDirect file

Some years ago I converted a stack of vhs tapes to DVD using a Sony device. I think it was the VRD-MC5 DVDirect.

These are the files generated by the device:
disk4.C00
disk4.C01
disk4.C02
disk4.C03
disk4.C04
disk4.RDF
disk4.RIF

The .RDF and .RIF files are small - about 3k. The other files are very large.

Now I want to bring the files from the DVD into Vegas for editing. The first video file on the DVD, disk4.C00, shows a thumbnail from the DVD menu -- and the rest of the file shows up as blank on the Vegas timeline. But there's plenty of video information there -- it's simply hidden by the menu frame.

The other video files show up on the Vegas timeline and are editable.
I have no idea how to work around this. Has anyone found a solution for this?
