How to solve a registering issue caused by installed patch

Rob-Young wrote on 8/18/2023, 1:21 AM

Hi, I have just downloaded the v19, 651 update package to resolve the issue where Vegas will not load. Now my registered copy says it is a trial and I cannot render my project. There is no option in the software to re-register. What can I do?

@Rob-Young I think the restrictions regarding trialling the same version again mentioned in the linked thread below still apply.

@vkmast Rob mentions his "registered copy" so this is probably a different problem?

@EricLNZ I interpreted it to mean a registered copy of the (earlier) trial version.

@Rob-Young ?

@Rob-Young Can you please clarify that your registered version was VP19.

@EricLNZ, yes, my copy was V19. I have not used it for some time and when I had need to create a new project, I found it would not load. After searching for a solution, I found that changing the system date allowed the software to load. On further investigation and logging into Vegas Community I noted a patch had been made available to resolve the issue (update 651). I downloaded and installed this patch which then resulted in my previously registered version being turned into a trial which I could not, then, register. Finally, I have downloaded my registered copy from Magix, uninstalled the existing trial, reinstalled the new download, applied the serial key and all is now well. Thank you everyone for your responses and apologies for my slow reply, (busy with a sick family member).

@Rob-Young thanks for clarifying and good that your issue is now solved.

Note: The original topic title ("How to register the trial") corrected to better describe the actual problem.
