I can't import mp4 HEVC files, bulid 204

Hi,

I can't import HEVC files to Movie studio Platinum. Everything was working well before update 2, in the previous version update 1. Today I made an update to build 204 and I can't import files to the timeline and even play preview. I have uploaded a screenshot with the file details (vlc - polish version sorry for that).

That's a pity for you,
Here with me no problem with a GOPro 7 UHD 50p file on my laptop from signature.

Two important things to get and give help

1- Upload such a small file to a site from where we can download it unharmed like dropbox and show here the link to that file.

2. Give all information about your used hardware as processor, used Graphic Card(s), drivers for those.

System parameters:
Windows 10, 64bit
Intel Core i7-8650U
RAM 32 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 620

I don't have any additional softwer and codecs installed. I am using only VLC to play preview so in the other players I can't play HEVC files it is true but as I mentioned, before update every things was working fine in the previus built 179 as I remember correctly the version number.

Thanks for the file.
I tried it in VMS 17Pl, VMS 16Pl and VPro 18, all latest builds.

I saw strange behaviour in the different programs.
It imports and plays fine in VPro 18 and VMS 16 Pl, but not in VMS 17 latest build.
I think because the video in the file is 10 bit, while mine are 8 bit
This must be new in the latest build of VMS pl 17 and it is to repair if you convert those files with the free app Handbrake to HEVC with the same dimensions and framerate . I saw no difference in video quality.

Glad to see that it is to repair, do you know when the update could be available?

And Where can I download the previous built, becasue for me it will be better solution, I have too many files to covert and easier will be to use previous version to finish current project.

Unfortunately the previous builds of the latest two versions are not available from MAGIX any more. The list of what's currently available is here, section 6. Note that the link to the Update history for various VEGAS programs (incl. VEGAS Movie Studios) is here, section 6.

Ok, I got it, I will download a previous version from moviestudiodozen but anyway it seems a little bit strange that MAGIX releases the software with such fundamental bug. I hope that will be repaired soon, It is my favorit NLE.

When can I expect this bug will be reparied in the latest version?

Maybe never. My thouhts are that these new builds are showing the policy of the owners of the program only to handle 10 bit video in the Pro versions.

I am blind or there was nothing about that in the releas notes? That in update 2 will disapear support for importing HEVC 10 bit formats... It wasn't new version, it was an update of version 17. I bought this software because of this particular feature, to be able to import such format. Sorry to say so but right now I feel cheated.

Sorry that I did not know such, but that's because I should not know for what it is needed to use 10 bit and therefor never used it. I was only guessing what could be the reason.

I am confused more when we are go deeper into disscusion :) Is there any possibility to ask official MAGIX support? To get an answer if it is a bug or withdrawing some features from the software during proudact lifecycle is an intentional policy? Sorry for that I am asking but I don't know if you are community or MAGIX's representatives...
