I can't move!

I'm using Vegas 10 platinum and I'm in the middle of a project abut suddenly when I try to play it back, I can't. It won't move. I can click the cursor anywhere in the project so the screen isn't frozen, but it won't play back, either from the cursor point or the beginning of the project. I'm not very proficient and I've probably done something crazy - can anyone help, please?

What operating system are you using, how fast is your processor, how much RAM do you have and how much free, clean, defragmented space is on your C drive?

What model of camcorder is your video from and what format and resolution is it?

What are your Vegas project properties?

Thanks for your response. I'm using Vista, and no cam recorder, just still slides. I have 4 Ram and 233 gb free on my hard drive. My project properties are custom 446 x 347. For no reason at all, my project has started moving again, but this has happened before, and I'd like to know what causes it so I can deal with it if it happens again.

VMStudio Platinum 10 (and 11) is still only 32-bit with a memory limitation.

And don't forget to resize all of your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.
