I need help with Movie Studios Platinum 13.0

Every time I drag something into my project, the template ALWAYS automatically changes to match the size of whatever is dragged into the project.

This is very annoying, especially since a lot of times I put in a small video clip, therefore the quality is low if I keep it in.

So I always have to go to properties and change the template to the one I prefer. (which is HD 1080-60i)

Can anyone tell me how I can make it stop changing when I put something into my project? Thank you.

P. S. Security questions are a bad idea, anyone who knows the answers can use it to access my account. So it does the exact opposite of helping. The only reason I made security questions is because I was forced to, but I really wanna get rid of them as soon as possible but currently there is no option.

Movie Studio should OFFER you the option of changing the project properties to match your media -- but only for the FIRST clip you add to your timeline. But the option to do so is yours. (Unless you checked the option to Always Base Project Settings on First Added Video.)

Yeah, it's always the first file I put into my project that changes the template.

Where exactly do I turn off "Always Base Project Settings on First Added Video"? I can't find that option in any tab of the properties.

In Vegas Pro the property is called "Prompt to adjust project settings to match first media added to timeline" it is on the General tab of the Preferences dialog available on the Options menu.
I don't see this in the Movie Studio Platinum 13.0 version of the preferences dialog ... maybe the developers are sadists as someone else recently posted.
The easiest way to cure this is to reset all settings by holding down CTRL and SHIFT as you start the program.

Thanks, vk! That's it exactly!

But I have not been able to find the preference in version 13 that disables that option if you select it. Do you really only get one chance, and then you're stuck with your choice forever?

It does seem you're stuck with that choice, Steve. Resetting like gret127 suggests brings the prompt back though. Best leave it unselected, I suppose.
Internal preferences have "Always match settings to first video" Value and Default as "False". I did not try changing anything there to see how it would affect.
