i phone video issues - please help

So after a long hiatus and installing (2) new SSD's on my PC, I'm back and have been playing with editing some short videos for you tube and having a lot of fun. I really like the Vegas interface and have had zero issues with editing and rendering very short videos (2 minutes max).

With this success, I thought I would try a longer home video but Vegas gets very laggy and crashes when I import more video clips onto the timeline. All my video in this case is from an I phone. 2 minutes of video seems to be the limit. After importing more than that, the preview screen goes black and video on the timeline doesn't display as it should.

Can anyone provide suggestions on settings, configuration, etc that may fix this issue?
.
I have Vegas Studio 10 and tried the Vegas trial edition 12 pro with same issue.

Please help...I want this set up to work...

I am running Windows 7 64

Quicktime version?

What version of Quicktime do you have installed?

What are your preview settings? Have you tried to use draft-auto?

Quick time is latest version. I just downloaded it to make sure.

The preview settings are on Auto. I have tried draft as well.

The performance monitor in the task manager shows that my computers CPU and memory usage is low.....If Vegas is laggy, why wouldn't it draw from the PC's available resources?

The "latest version" is often not the best.
Specific answers will get you specific responses on these forums.
Best of luck.

Roger that....I am using Apple Quicktime version 7.7.5

Should I use another and if so, where can I get older Quicktime versions?

Thank you

http://www.oldapps.com/quicktime_player.php
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/quicktime/

I had Qt 7.6.9 with VMSP 10, still have it with MSP 13.
Win7/64, no iPhone video though.

Zondedo, upload a short sample or two of your original footage for some of us to test.

OK...could you please tell me where can I upload?

A file sharing site, like Dropbox.

Try drive.google.com if you have google account.

As for suggestions, you can reencode every video from iPhone in order to avoid compatibility issues. For example, Handbrake can do the work.
