i use vegas pro 19.0 on a windows 11 laptop.
I have somehow turned of the help tool that helps you connect 2 video tracks. How do i get it back?

If you do, click on the hamburger menu for a track, select 'Edit Visible Button Set' then put a check mark in 'Make Compositing Parent' and 'Make Compositing Child'. Then click OK.

Options > Enable snapping?

That's not really what i meant, a like blue bar came up when i tryied to put the clips togheter and that helped me aline them. the blue bar dosen't show anymore because i must have accidently pressed something
And make sure "Ignore Event Grouping" is not turned on. CTRL-SHIFT-U
Or you unchecked this litle button on the timeline toolbar
