ignite effect not rendering

Former user wrote on 6/18/2017, 10:39 AM

Probably not the right place to post but I downloaded the free Hitfilm Ignite Express and used the vignette effect on a shot just to try it out. If I render an HD mpeg file, the vignette looks right, but if I render an MPEG DVD file (which is what I actually need) the vignette effect does not render. Anybody else seeing this? thanks

Are you using DVD Architect for burning the discs? If so, even though the encoder is WAY slower, it also is higher quality when it comes to downsampling HD video to SD for DVD, so it may work out in your favor to skip the headache, render it to HD so you get your vignette, and then let DVDA do the downsample from there.

No, I always use Vegas to render. I need to enable things in the encoder (such as closed GOP) which you can't control in DVDA. I find the downrez in Vegas works fine. Just curious why this effect didn't render. Using CPU render so it is not a GPU problem. Thanks for your input.

Quick similar renders (SVP 13, MVMSP 14) replicated your results. Tried also VegasVignette in MVMSP 14, which rendered OK.

Tried render to mp4 with Ignite vingette. Rendered well

Interesting, I will just do the vignette the old fashion way.
