Is SmartScription discontinued?

A friend of mine was interested to buy a license, which I told him about the SmartScription. I assumed it was temporally replaced with the 2x1 license deal, but since it hasn't returned... was it discontinued or will return in the future?

@Eric-Weichhart the SmartScription option offerings were discontinued a few months ago.

I can confirm that the SmartScription option has been discontinued. We stopped offering it at the beginning of May. We do not have any intention of bringing it back.
