Is there a way to slow down panning using MSP12 Slideshow Creator?

I'm using Movie Studio Platinum 12. Using the built-in Slideshow Creator and selecting "Effects: Fades with pan", when the photos are moved to the timeline, the fades and pans are what I have in mind.

However, the panning speed is too fast for the leisurely viewing of vacation photos that I want. I would like the panning to be about half the default speed.

Is there a way in MSP12 to adjust the auto panning speed in the Slideshow Creator? Or is there a third party program that can adjust the panning speed of the Slideshow Creator?

I did not find such a adjusting and do it always by hand.
Opening Pan/Crop placing a new keyframe at 0,5 - 0,75 of the timeline, deleting the last one and then moving the new one to the end of the timeline.

Hi Cornico,

Thanks for your response. I assume the method you describe is applying panning photo by photo. That's great for slideshows meant for presentation.

The slideshows I have in mind are for vacation photos. Nothing fancy. Just slideshows that my wife and I can review on a personal level, not for a party or to give to others. So I would like to apply random panning to the photos with one click, like how MSP12's slideshow creator can do, except to slow down the panning speed.

..........

By recent research I discovered "Playback rate" will do exactly what I want. After using "Insert > Slideshow > Fades with pan" and inserting the slideshow on the timeline, I can rt click one photo > properties and see "Playback rate" = 1.000. I change that to .5 and the panning is slowed to half speed.

My problem now is that I can't find a way to change the "Playback rate" for all of the photos in the slideshow in one operation. If I use copy > paste attributes, of course it copies the panning of the source photo to all of the other photos so that's out.

QUESTION TO ANYONE: Is there a way to copy only the "Playback rate" to all photos in the slideshow without having to do it tediously one photo at a time?

Would Select events to end > Group Create New > Ctrl+drag (Time stretch) the end of last event do what you need?

Or playing with duration settings before you "Create"?

I previously tried those things. I set the duration of the photos and transitions to 1/4 of what I wanted before importing the slideshow to the the timeline. (1/4 to see the effects better) When I inserted the test photos to the timeline, the panning was just really fast so when doing the group > ctrl+drag, the result was the same panning speed as if I had just inserted the photos using the actual durations I want. No joy.

Reducing "Playback rate" for each photo appears to do exactly what I want. Now if I can only find a way to apply the playback rate to all photos on the timeline with just a couple of clicks.

Thanks.

From online Help (F1) (just a couple of clicks)

Copying and pasting event attributes: Copying and pasting event attributes allows you to apply properties from one event to other events. The following attributes will be pasted:

Event switches

Audio event pitch shift

Video event playback rate and undersample rate

Video event effects and effect keyframes

Video event pan/crop settings

1. Select the event from which you want to copy attributes.

2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

3. Select the event where you want to apply the copied attributes. /(Select Events to End)

4. From the Edit menu, choose Paste Event Attributes.

Not sure if I'm not understanding "paste event attributes". When I do steps 1-4 above the "Playback Rate" is applied to all of the photos but the pan from step-1 is also applied to all of the photos. So I lose the random panning that the Slideshow creator did. IOW, all of the photos end up with the identical pan as the photo in step-1.

What I hope to do is to keep the random panning in all of the photos and change only the "Playback Rate" for all of the photos.

Thanks for your continued help. Very much appreciated.
