Layout Template

Robert-Costo wrote on 1/8/2022, 2:44 PM

have Movie Studio Platinum 15.0 and I have My Project Setting the way I Like them and I put a Check in Start Every Project With These Settings.

Now I also have My Screen Layout and Tracks and Windows just how I want them.

How do I Save this Screen Layout as a Template and give it a Name?

I want to do this so if I ever have to I can just get My Screen Layout Back.

Go to View > Window Layouts > Organize Layouts. Select your old layout in Available layouts and Current layout boxes. In Current box Clear the old selected layout and then in Available box Delete the same selected layout. Then press OK and close and reopen the program.

In the Organize Layouts Window on the Left Side I can Delete My Old Layouts.

But on the Right I can not.

Thanks @j-v Sometimes it takes two to tango (in tandem) 🙂

Just one thing about the Template Manager I do not Understand?

One the Left Side is all the Layout Templates I Made.

Do You have to Pick a Layout Template on the Left and then Link it to the same thing on the Right?

I Ask because I See the same things on the Left and Right.

In the Organize Layouts menu, the LH list shows the available layouts on the system and RH list shows the layouts that will display when you go to the View/Window Layouts menu. There are a maximum of 10 slots for the latter menu display.

Use the Assign button between the 2 lists in Organize Layouts to move a layout from the L list to the R list. Layouts already in the R list can be cleared or replaced using either of those buttons.

I did want to know before I do this?

Delete the Picture In Picture Track on the TimeLine but keep the Video Track the Text Track the Music Track the Audio Track.

Then Save it as My Own Layout Template to use again.

So if I Close Movie Studio 15 and come back will it put back the Picture In Picture Track that I Deleted?

I Ask because I Thought I Remembered that Movie Studio 15 would not let You Delete the Picture In Picture Track and it would come back.

Or was that an Older Version of Movie Studio?

The default layout is initially loaded. When you go to "View/Window Layouts" and select your own Template it will change. I'm not aware of any setting or option that allows your own layout to load on startup.

Thank You for all the help.

I did Make a Good New Layout and gave it a Name and Saved it.

Now if I Open Movie Studio Platinum 15.0 again and go to View and then Layouts I See the one I just Made.

And if I Click it the Screen just Blinks but My new Layout does not Open.

Is this because I have to Assign it to a Spot in the Organize Layouts List?
