I think the below is true, please confirm I'm right or not.

I'm allowed to install Vegas Pro 365 on my new (fast) computer, and still keep it on my (slow) laptop, but I'm not allowed to use both copies simultaneously - is that correct? Will use windows 10 or 11 for both copies.

What about Boris FX? Is that a separate single use only deal?

The reason for this is that when I'm rendering, I'm unable to use the rest of the program. 2 machines will solve this (single user) problem.

From the main FAQs, item 9 (often quoted on this forum, e.g. recently here ):

"9. How many computers can I use VEGAS Pro on?
You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later) simultaneously on 2 devices. VEGAS Pro 365 can be used on 1 device at a time.

To deactivate a device, so you can activate a different one, visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month.

In VEGAS Pro 14.0 or later, you can also choose Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required."

Re Borisfx, this comment may help

Thanks for quick response. I see for my 365 version I can USE it on 1 machine at the same time, but can I INSTALL it on 2 (or more)?

When I ordered Vegas Pro, I never realised that rendering a video track would render the program unusable for any other tasks. Pretty poor. Is it possible to use another (free?) rendering program to render Vegas projects? That will solve my problem.

Why not?
It is possible to use on one computer more than one instance of the program at the same time.
So during rendering project one, you are able to edit project two.

Can you mention any NLE that's able to perform other tasks while rendering?

As @j-v explained, with Vegaspro you can open more than one instance. While one instance renders, you can use the other to continue editing. Afaik Vegas is the only NLE who can do this, so not pretty poor but pretty smart.

I didn't try and start a new instance. If this is true then I tmust ake back my "pretty poor" allegation! (Especially if I can install on 2 separate computers without having to uninstall and reinstall the licence once per month at best)

@Simplest2remember To clarify - you can install on two machines but only one Pro 365 can be activated for use at any one time. Activating/deactivating does not involve uninstalling anything.

Please note the quoted comments in vkmast's post. Decativating/acivating from your Magix account runs into the once a month problem. But if you "deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu" you can do it as often as you wish.
