Magic tool ?

Hi,
I use Vegas since a long time in audio but i am new in video use, I would like to know if it is possible with pan/crop or an other plugins to select all an area wich have the same color (with a similitude setting)... a kind of magic tool as we find in photoshop, Ulead PhotoImpact etc ... I want this to isolate easily a part of an image.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Where to find interesting video plugins effects ?
Regards.
VINCENT

What you're looking for is the Chroma Key FX.
Things do get a lot more tricky with a moving image than a still image. The other alternative are masks, again if it's not a static part of the image sequence then it can be very tedious work, Vegas does a lot to help but the best thing is planning and shooting with what you intend to do later in mind. It's much, much easier to do a chroma key if what you want to remove is all the one constant colour. Also bear in mind that a digital still contains way more color data than that from all but the most expensive video cameras so it's very hard to get the CK FX to work as simply as the magic wand in PS.
But don't dispair, it can be done, heaps of good stuff on how to do good CKs in Vegas out there.

The VASST site has lots of resources and lists plug-ins at http://www.vasst.com/training/Vegasplugs.htm
About half of them are donationware / free.

2- What farss is suggesting with the masks is the same thing as rotoscoping. Rotoscoping will be less tedious in compositing programs like Combustion, After Effects, etc. Rotoscoping is still a very time-consuming process, so it's much more convenient if you had shot a good green screen (for chroma key) in the first place.

y'all dont get to the point... figured it out... you wanna use chroma keyer (for those whove used it before, you know it messes up skin colourisation and stuff) then put high threshold to 0.000 and increase the low threashold a small amount until the background disappears... i did it in sony vegas 11... if you wanna know what figure i used, it was 0.200 low threshold...

And Ten Years After is still alive as a group as well if you get the point.
