Mainconcept 854x480-25p GPU > GreenLine issue

set wrote on 4/9/2014, 5:36 AM
I found a problem when rendering to MP4 using template internet 480p widescreen
(854x480), but changed the frame rate to 25p (PAL area).
There is Green line appear on the right side of video when using GPU.

Rendered test files can be found at : http://www.dropbox.com/sh/ofyufo3sja59mkm/0OWlC8gwXK

No problem when rendering with CPU only or lower resolution such like 800x450.

Any solution for this?

Thanks,
Set

Hi set, I've had this exact issue as well and I sem to remember it was finally resolved by some wise forum member advising me n some aspect of ensuring consistency with final output specifications. If others don't jump n and rovide immediate advice, I'll trawl back through a coupe f years of docs and see if I cn find he advice / solution. The good news I that once resolved, it never occurred again. I seem to remember it was as simple as using 'match media aspects' or similar.

Thank you Duncan H.

I tried search from your profile page, and found you asked this 2 years ago:
Subject: Green stripe on mp4 - suggestions?

From what I read looks like the only solution for GPU is to customize resolution to 848x480 (instead of 854x480), and works well here too. Width size of 852, 850 still having Green line problem.
But, look forward if there is better solution with 'match media aspects' thing.

Hi Set, You are way ahead of me, I have fabricated the match aspect thingy, based on poor memory. I do remember that I resolved my problem, but you've found out how. That said, I haven't seen it occurring over the past 2 years. Are you using Vegas 12??

Sorry can't be of more help, but I'm perennially stuck as a noob!
set wrote on 4/9/2014, 6:54 AM
Yes, Vegas Pro 12 b770

It's okay Duncan, don't have to be a noob...
Thanks to you, we found this problem, sadly, still exist....

SCS, Another feedback for you! (I'll send ticket)

Update May 28th 2014:
SCS Team has confirmed this issue and able to reproduce it.
Looking forward for fixes later.
In the meantime, the alternate route are described in this whole thread.

Try 856x480.
(It may need a modulus of 8).
vkmast wrote on 4/9/2014, 9:30 AM
With the OP's settings here, 856x480 does not have the green line issue, 854x480 has. VPro 12b770.
set wrote on 4/9/2014, 9:33 AM
Confirmed: 856x480 size fix the GreenLine issue.

Since you say it doesn't work at 852, that means your particular configuration requires a modulus (divisibility) of >=2^3 or 8. The macroblock size is still 16.

A modern encoder would normally be expected operate at mod 2 or interpolate some pixels to fill in the blank edge, but maybe the h/w acceleration is preventing this from happening.
