Memory Leaks

I'm really tired fighting this beast. Have bought VMS HD 11 yesterday and can't even render a 3 minute video. I'm not talking about not being able to insert a text with shadow - that's fine, let it be without shadows. But why does it crash when I simply PLAY the imported video?? 3-4 minutes of simple playing in editor and it crashes occupying all available computer memory. Whenever I press play the memory consumption grows and never drops.

What should I do, any ideas?

Sorry to read about your problems :(
I have about the same level graphics card and the same driver version and have had no troubles with b283 and .m2ts files so far. Do you "Match media settings?" What are your source files? Have you checked processes with the Task Manager or Process Explorer?
I do hope someone will come up with something.

It shouldn't crash that much. I edit AVCHD (please give details on the files and camera that you are using in the project) on a lesser cpu (C2D 2.66 GHz, Vista 32, 4 GB RAM). I see found the suggestion that most would suggest.

Thanks all. It seems I have traced the problem down.

It lies in the Text Media Generator. Whenever I create a text _with_ shadow then it eats all memory in no time whatever I do, either preview video or render it.

Disabling shadows removes the problem completely. Or at least I can't recreate it.
