What you're describing is simply how DVDs work, Lordy. When you jump to a chapter marker, the disc will play completely from that point forward.

The only way to get the playback to return to the menu after playing a segment is to create each segment as a separate video with a return to the main menu listed as its End Action.

If you can wait a day or two, I will try to post a video showing how to create returns after a chapter. It is not hard, but a bit tedious.

While you're waiting, you might read the online Help (F1) item "Creating a menu that returns to the scene selection menu after playing the selected scene/chapter (manual scene selection menus)" in Index under "Adding a scene selection menu".

Quick Demo for Chapter End Return. Let me know if you have any questions.

Beautiful demonstration, David!

As you'll note in David's tutorial, he is not using traditional scene/chapter markers to accomplish this. In order to have the video return to the menu after each scene, he's used several trimmed versions of the main video as "scenes".

Thank you Steve.

I hope Lordyfan got it figured out.

Sorry to hear that lordyfan. Get well soon!

Former user wrote on 1/22/2018, 8:49 AM

I was hoping that wasn't the case since you mentioned it in one of your posts. Get well and take care.

Thanks for your best wishes..i'm ok at the moment guys..Quick Question david..does this method work with the blank button option?,,i design my menu in photoshop with track lists [i build concert dvds]. i use the corporate 1 theme in DVDA and change the background to that image..heres where i got the idea from, which was easy..but as i said, it plays from the selected chapter through.

.

Yes, it works with any button. I use Photoshop for all of my menus. I never use the templates.
