Menu Sound

Hi All

When I play a Blu-Ray authored and burned using DVDAS I do not get any sound on the menu/scene selection pages. Sometimes I just get a very lound buzz but otherwise the Blu Ray is fine.

This is happended on the last 3 discs I burned but up to now has never been a problem. I haven't changed any settings, as far as I know and it's the same whether I play the blu ray on either of my blu rayplayers.

The main movie sounds fine and it plays fine when I review it on DVDAS.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

If you are creating your disc with this feature with DVDAPro Ver 6 - then stop, you will not be successful with audio under menus. Return to at least Version 5.2 or better 5.0b of DVDAPro.

Be sure you are importing audio of standard .wav or an AC3Pro format.

Thanks for the heads up on this one videoIT guy.

The audio track from the movie is imported form Vegas Pro 12 in an AC3Pro format and I don't have any problems with it.

When I create the menu in DVDA Pro I normally add some music from my itunes library.

If I understand you correctly I can't do this in DVDA Pro version 6. Is there any way you can add audio to menus? If not surely version 6 is a backward step relative to 5.2?

Read that as Version6 of DVDAPro as having more unnecessary features than previous version with bugs added...answer to your last post last question

I raised this question with Sony support i.e. can you burn a blu-ray disc with audio included on a menu? Is this a known bug?

VideoITguy (see earlier conversation below) very helpfully suggested this may be an issue with version 6 so I tried to burn the same project in 5.2 and it was fine. I have tried this several times now with different projects and the answer is the same each time - no audio on the menu if use DVDA 6, fine if I use DVDA 5.2

I have been going back and forth with the support desk for the last month. You know the questions, what version of this are you running, what verison of that are you using, exactly what did you do etc.

In summary, the answer I have got is that they have said that they CAN burn a blu ray with audio on the menu. Therefore I have question for the forum. Is this a known bug or not? Can anybody burn a blu-ray with audio on the menu using DVDA 6?

The support guys are giving me the impression it's not a problem so it must be me screwing up somewhere.

Thanks

Wovian,
that's how it works...then at one point they don't reply any more and wait for the next update to be able to mark the incident solved.

Wovian, to answer your question: I regularly use DVDA 6.0 for authoring Blu-ray discs with audio (music) during the menus. I guess I lead a charmed life: I haven't had a single problem with 6.0.

This is a known bug in the Version 6 DVDAPro and has been reported by many people who have in fact done the comparision test between versions 5.* and 6.0. Hence from the user point of view it is a bug that crept into Version 6.0.

Now from SCS support - you take your info with a grain of salt. Like many issues, you have to be very specific in what you are doing and what you are attempting to make as a result. With any complex software this is not easy to accomplish in the incompetent spotty support systems that seem to be the order of the day.

Those people who don't find the bug either don't attempt to do the same as you OR in the vast majority of cases just ignore the issue by not using the feature. Explaining a know bug can be as difficult with fellow users as it is with a terrible support system. Trust your gut and know what you found out.

Thank you for replying guys. It's much clearer to me now!

I think I'll just get on with my life and let SCS Support notch another "Case solved" as I haven't replied to them within the stipulated two days.

5.2 here I come!
