Missing files after moving

Sometimes I "Tidy" files quite forgetting one may be included in SMS v10/12 (dot) vf files.
( a Project I was working on, but may have "rested" for some reason ).

On start-up it points to this error ( Good, so far) and If I know where it is, there is an Option to Specify the New Location.

However, if I'm unsure, I can use the Search for missing file option.
It's unlikely a Media file will be on the C-drive, so I remove this from the list.... yet still the PC wastes its time searching all the files on "C" - - - WHY?

Why ask for assistance for locating the missing file may be?
( If the software ignore this assistance?)
This applies to v10 and v12 . . . so I presume it's a common occurrence, maybe due to a Setting somewhere else that hides itself. Could this be a Windows7 (32) glitch?

When it's exhausted C it then finds the file on a drive I suggested . . . .Ha-Hum.
BTW it places **** four stars when H is followed by o as in the line above - Er, what's that about?
I understand the five-letters-and-dash represents a "shrug of the shoulders".

Don't use the Search option.
The preferred method is to Specify a New Location, locate the file, and Vegas will also locate all the other files that experienced a parallel path change. Then it is simple to add all the "missing" files back into your project.

>>>Er, what's that about?<<<

A wordfilter as implemented by SCS.

Thanks vkmast, - I sure understand how to do this "properly", it's for those times I'm tempted to use the search feature and wonder if only my copies search Drives I've removed from the List.

Wordfilter, I get that too, but wonder why Ho is not permitted. If my Address is Westward-Ho! - will that be bludgeoned?....I'll see soon enough. ( EDIT: Yes it is ).

The OP might edit his post above to thank musicvid10 for that first reply he got.
As it happens though, my "Search" does function as advised in here.
Btw, I don't need to "remove from the list" anything, I just select (look in) the drive I want.
I'm sure if it depends on some indexing settings, which I did not come across, someone will notify.

My post had the wordfilter link only. If you read the article (lines 3 and 4), it may or may not help you "wonder why".
