In the past I have had Movie Studio installed along side VP 10.

Currently I have VP 11 and VP 12 installed on the same machine. I also have DVD-A 5.2 and DVD-A 6.0 installed on that same machine. No problems that I have observed.

Do be carefully, however, if you are whizzing around and open/save a Movie Studio project in Vegas Pro. You will NOT be able to open that project again in Movie Studio. Just make a back-up copy before you do that so that you won't save over your Movie Studio project out of habit or error. That's what I do when I bounce between VP 11 and VP 12.

Regards,

Kimberly

Max,
I for one have a couple of versions of both Movie Studio and Pro on the same machine and that doesn't seem to cause problems.
Remember though Kimberly's warning and read here about Vegas Pro and Vegas Movie Studio project file compatibility
And do not install NBTitlerEx for MSPPS if you installed NBTitler Pro for Vegas Pro.

With multiple versions on one machine, it's always a good idea to save a copy of your Shared Plug-Ins folder before each install or uninstall. Can save you from another reinstallation down the road if something gets deleted by accident.

Thank you all--I was of course concerned that with two (or more I suppose) programs on the same PC, one might trample the other's registry settings or something. I will try this out.

I will take care relative to project files and shared plugins.

Thanks for such quick replies!

On my main development machine, I have 5 different versions of Vegas and MovieStudio installed, along with a couple of debugging builds of my own and other Sony products like SoundForge. They co-exist quite well.
