Movie Studio 12 min system requirements

I want to buy Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12 for a friend who is currently running Windows XP 32bit SP3 and who plans to upgrade in the near future to a more capable machine and Win 7 64bit.

Current machine is XP (SP3), 4 core cpu, > 2Ghz, 4Gb RAM w/an upgraded graphics card. Will it run Movie Studio 64bit at all, even if it labors to do so. Or even if it can't see and offload some processing to its' GPU.

I'd like to see him start to experience Movie Studio even before he is ready for prime time.

A lot (a WHOLE lot) depends on what type of video you are trying to edit. You never told us.
