Hi,
I have Movie Studio 12 and works well without problems.
I installed on same PC the new 13. It crashes when try starting on splash windows during: "creating video plugin factory".

I have a dell precision M6300 with a Quadro FX 3600 M.

I tryied with the NVIDIA QUADRO/NVS/TESLA/GRID DESKTOP DRIVER:
331.65
321.01
320.92

but without any change :(
I have kaspersky 2014 and I disabled it.

Someone have some ideas ?

Thanks

Some of the plugins in version 12 apparently cause version 13 problems in Windows 8.

Try uninstalling the NewBlue Titler Pro. And, if that doesn't fix it, try removing all of the NewBlue effects.

Only issue I've had so far is that Titler apparently thinks my nvidia 750m is not powerful enough. Funny, given that it's perfectly capable of playing metro last light at 1080p, so something's boned.

Cornico,
just to check, did you have NBTitler Pro (1 or 2) or NBTitlerEx (NewBlueSonyVegasMSPPS13) or both installed?
duncanm wrote on 1/18/2014, 7:13 AM
I have both, but no crash. may try removing the old one. am in touch with newblue about the graphics issues, becuse I refues to believe that mine isn't up to the task.

Hopefully JetDV pops up and offers some solutions.

If Titler is crashing, peraps try to look for an update. In Titler 1.0, go to help>Check for Updates.

They addressed the EX vs. V1.0 conflict some time ago.

Also, as an FYI, they are giving Titler 2.0 away with puirchase of lower third templates right now.

I can confirm that it is NB related.

There are two folders where NB has some plugins installed (32 bit and 64 bit?) on my computer.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\OFX

I renamed the x86 related OFX directory (for example OFXTEST). VMS13 still crashed on startup. So, I changed it back to OFX.

Then, I renamed the OFX folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX to OFXTEST.

VMS13 booted up fine, but without the NewBlueFX. Som, now we can now atr least play with V13 (without uninstalling the plugins)!

I then went one step further...
-I renamed the OFX folders back to their original names (OFX).
-In the folder that caused the issue (C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\), I dragged the folder, "TitlerEx.ofx.bundle" to a folder on my desktop. No crash and all of my installed NB FX, transitions AND Titler Pro 2.0 were there!

I tried the same thing by moving the 'TitlerPro.ofx.bundle', but Movie Studio still crashed. Looks like it is the TitlerEX from MovieStudio that is causing issues.

I use Titler Pro 2.0. The Titler Ex build was 120602. There is an updated version out. If you still use Titler EX, you may wish to update and see if that works. That version also solved the earlier Titler 1.0/Titler EX conflict according to the readme file. The conflict is with the earlier version of EX (I don't know what version of EX is shipped with MovieStudio 13). SO, I don't know if it will fix the issue (but you can try since we now what file has the issue.

I have logged a support ticket with NewBlue.

Markk,
as I said in the other thread, I gave up trying to make TitlerPro and TitlerEx live peacefully together. Hopefully there'll be a solution.
Markk655 wrote on 1/18/2014, 4:18 PM
vkmast,

What build of EX do you have?

This issue V13 is a conflict with EX and Movie Studio (not with Titler Pro), since Movie Studio 13 crashes as long as TitlerEX is in the OFX folder regardless of the presence of TitlerPro.

Should be a decent workaround for many of us that only use TitlerPro.

Markk,
I recently uninstalled MSP12 TitlerEx (latest v.) after problems with VPro 12 TitlerPro 1.
I haven't even tried to install MSP13 TitlerEx (MSPPS13).

Ah.

Cornico,

Which build of Titler 1? Is it the most up to date?
Markk655 wrote on 1/19/2014, 3:43 PM
If you TitlerEX came bundled from Movie Studio 12, use the following updater:

http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueSonyVegasMSPPS12Setup14-131212.exe

I updated Titler EX to this version and now V13 opens up fine with Titler EX and Titler 2.0.

I have not yet tried to install the NB FX/Titler EX that came with MS13.

Thanks to NB excellent support for the quick answer.

Also, here's a newer MSPPS bundle installer for SMS13:

Jet,

Brilliant and thanks for posting....Another wonderful example of fast, quick and focused support by NewBlue!

One other Q....Are the plugins bundled with Movie Studio 13 (FX and transitions the exact same as those bundled with Movie Studio 12 Platinum?

Transition
-Rotating Frames
-Flip
-Comb
-Louvers

VideoFX
· Paper Collage
· Posterize
· Color Fixer Plus
· Auto Contrast
· Selective Color
· Selective Focus

AudioFX
Phone
Filter Sweep
Reverb

Yes, the SMS12 and SMS13 bundle should contain the exact same effects and transitions as well as TitlerEx.

Thanks, this is what I got from Sony Support, and it kept wanting registration and the numbers I was given did not work - don't use this one, use 117:

http://download.sonycreativesoftware.com/current/extras/NewBlueSonyVegasMSPPS13Setup14-140115.exe

Do Not USE This one.

Also the set of plugins (between 12 & 13) that I have from NB are very different.

One is labeled "New Blue VideoFX for Sony Vegas MSPPS" and contains auto contrast, color fixer plus, paper collage, posterize, selective color, and selective focus,

the new one is "NewBlue Starter Pack" with ST colored pencil, ST Dream Glow, ST film Camera, ST Lens Correction, ST Reflection, ST Shear Energy, ST spotlight, and ST video Tuneup.

So they appear to be two very different sets of plugins - all are working with my MS13.

Thanks for the fix - it works for me! I upgraded from Studio 12 Suite this morning. Have logged the start-up issue with Sony, then renamed OFX folder as you suggest. I didn't follow up your futher suggestions. I'm happy to continue using version 12 until Sony/NewBlue deliver a fix.
