Movie Studio 15 Platinum crash at startup

Sluggo2 wrote on 10/1/2018, 5:45 PM

Purchased the Movie Studio Suite, installed everything and Movie Studio 15 crashes during startup at "Creating video plug-in factory..."

I have scoured the web, looked through and searched this forum, and have yet to be able to use the editor. Would really appreciate some help. Installed version is 15.0 (Build 146). OS is Win 10 current at post date.

Edit: Boris was causing the crash above, but now I get a crash when initializing hardware acceleration. I have tried everything everyone else has suggested with no luck.

I have tried everything everyone else has suggested with no luck.

And we also have no luck because we don't know WHAT you tried, so no suggestions are possible.

.........but now I get a crash when initializing hardware acceleration

You could state here the hardware you use, to be precise to tell us wich GPU you are there trying to use and its installed driverversion.

My PC is a i7-6700k, 24GB, and GTX1070, current version of Win 10, and GPU drivers.

Most of the solutions to crash issues I have seen so far have been from people who can at least get the software running. It is appearing to be a bit more difficult to disable hardware acceleration (most common suggestion) when you can't get to the options to turn it off.

Edit: I have also tried looking through the FAQ section of the support page, but every topic leads to the same page listing some patch files for software other than Movie Studio.

and GTX1070, current version of Win 10, and GPU drivers.

And that driverversion for the GTX1070 is 411.70 ?

Yes, my current NV driver is 411.70, but I have tried drivers back to 397.xx.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\igdlh64.inf_amd64_250db833a1cd577e\igdrclneo64.dll

This is that file installed on my laptop with no problems concerning this problem from signature:

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\igdlh64.inf_amd64_284fc0001ef3d612\igdrclneo64.dll

installed on 15-05-2018 during the latest big W10 update.

Looks to me a bit higher version than yours
