Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum has white noise covering all audio...

I have been using this software for 2 months with no issues. However, yesterday when I tried to edit a video a loud white noise covered all audio (video is fine). Even after I close the program the noise is still persistent on EVERYTHING in my computer. From other videos, movies, system sounds... everything. If I restart my computer everything plays fine. However, when I start the program again the same thing happens. I even uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with no difference. I spent 4 hours on the phone with Dell and they could not find the cause. Their suggestion was to contact Vegas support but I can't seem to find any support options listed in the Service Center section. I am using a Dell Inspirion 15 5000, Core i7 10th gen processor, Windows 10 Pro. I all worked fine until yesterday and I can't figure out why this is happening. Any feedback? How do I contact Vegas Customer Support? A phone number would be GREAT.

This company sucks. I have tried for over an hour to find a phone number for technical support or somewhere where I can start a support ticket. All I get is the run around. It looks like I wasted my money.

"If it worked before" resetting is worth a try at least. Instructions apply to MS versions as well.

I had the same problem, also on a Dell Inspiron 5000. I put on blue tooth headphones and found that the white noise went away. I looked at some Dell forums and found that if you go to device manager in the Windows Control Panel and change the driver for the speakers from Realtek to something like generic audio device (I can't remember exactly what it was called, but it was the only other option). All the static/white noise is gone and I can use Movie Studio.
