What is a custom video media preset?

If you create say a custom title, you can rename it and save it to use again in another project. When I click save it doesn't...

I just managed to save a (Legacy) Text preset. Which titler are you using?

Hi Nick,

Media Generators> All> Titles & Text> Default

I then change the text etc and rename the preset, click the disk/save icon and then it cannot be found either in the main Titles & Text or the drop down menu.

Thanks, I can see that you can do it, sadly I still can't. Is there anyone with a solution please?

Don't know if it matters but are you using the latest VMS 15 Platinum build 116? My custom presets were made there using the standard procedure you mention ("Adjust the settings, Type a name in the Preset box, Click the Save Preset button"). You might try resetting to "Delete all cached application data".

I have just upgraded/paid for the latest version. I had version 12 before and it used to work then.

It's an unusual problem that I have not read of before. I suggest you submit a support request at https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/vegas/form , including as much detailed information about the problem as you can.

This kind of issues may stem from a DLL mismatch - a old but apparently compatible library is found in the path before the right one. You could try to deinstall everything and scour the system for any leftover directory or library, then reinstall the software you want. Alternatively, you can use one of the many utilities to dump which DLLs the Movie Studio executable uses and see if you have some old versions laying about in any directory in the PATH environment variable.
