MP3 corrupted, strange noises scratches

Hello,

Yesterday I reinstalled my windows from 8.1 to windows 10 and today I cannot open my old projects well. All things with video are the same like was before reinstall but with audio there is happening something strange. In all my projects audio have very loud scratches which I cannot fix. I tried to make new project and import sound again but there is the same issue.

All .mp3 files which I import into Vegas15 are corrupted and I don't know what to do. I cannot render it into .wav and try with it because all what I have is very strange scratches. Maybe someone had this issue before and know how to fix that?
I upload a sample file to give you vision how it works now but turn speakers/headphones volume down it is very loud.

EDIT: On Vegas14 there is all okay but I cannot edit projects from V15, so there is problem with V15 :/

Which build of Vegas Pro 15 do you use?

Then you should try updating to current build 261 first.

it works! Thank you!
I thought that Vegas will automatically update ;)

I have the same issue but am already on build 261. mp3 files no longer work. Verified that the same mp3 files work correctly in Vegas 14.

I had trouble with my MP3 files sounding like gibberish until I allowed the computer to connect to the internet before I started Vegas. MP3s then started working again. Now they work even when I am not connected to the internet. I think Vegas must get a license for MP3's the first time they are used after a new install/update. Is your computer connected to the internet?

Point 10.

My computer has been connected to the internet, but there may be a clue there. Honing in on the fact that komaryt got it to work by installing a new version, but that same version doesn't work for me points to licensing or something related. I tried the easy route of deactivating, rebooting, and reactivating, but alas that was a bit too easy and didn't work. I'll try the uninstall-reinstall later when I have a bit more time. Sigh.

Well, to complete this, I haven't had time to try the uninstall-reinstall, as there alternatives (like converting mp3 files to wav before using). But today I installed build 311, which ended up having the same effect without the intermediate steps. And I'm happy to report that mp3 now works for me.

Bottom line is if mp3 stops working, reinstall (one way or another).

I am having the same problem with Movie Studio Platinum 13. How do I update the software?

vkmast wrote on 4/4/2020, 11:56 PM

See the MAGIX Download Center if there is an update (later build) available for your software. You don't need to update if you now have build #954 (32-bit) or #955 (64-bit). The later builds were only MAGIX rebrands and only 64-bit.
