MS 13 platinum troubles

I have been undergoing many numerous crashes lately it seems to increase all the time. I have the 987 build reloaded a couple times as well.. Anyone else experiencing this? I have windows 10.. My pc is a pretty stable one had no problems with any other programs.. I want to add to what has been happening.. I continually get notifications of missing clips but it is not true.. Also now it says the Boris plugin is not installed when it is installed just reloaded it.. It seems this version has big problems.. Very disappointing.. Sony split and left us hanging..

To troubleshoot stability and crashing, there are some things to try in this post, which was written for Vegas Pro but also applies to Movie Studio. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-troubleshooting-crashing-and-stability--104785/

Did you originally buy Movie Studio Platinum 13 through Sony or only recently bought the Magix version ?
I would recommend you un-install the Magix version build #987 and re-install the final Sony build version #955.
There is no advantage to installing the Magix build if you bought the Sony version. I would also then recommend you reset the program to defaults, which will also clear the temporary files cache. Quite often this will fix odd problems.

Do this: Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon on Desktop to Boot program.
Window will pop up.
Select Delete all Cached Application Data and then press Yes.

If you have weird junk from Sony and Magix mixed together, this may have caused a conflict in the Windows registry. A clean install of Movie Studio would be the only way to fix this. I am using MSP 13 build #955 on Windows 10 and it is running perfectly.

Hi Derek, Thanks for the advice.. Is the 955 build the one on the cd? I think I purchased it from Sony before Magix took over and recently updated it to the Magix version thinking it would have an update. I think you are right.. Will try this first.. *** Update actually I just did what you said re-installed it and that seems to have fixed it all.. Using the 955 build works best.. oh and it is on the cd already.. Thanks Derek that really helped... Dave

Build 955 may not be the one on the cd. If not, check the link (point 4b.), also in Nick's post here.
