My VMS 17 has suddenly started acting up. Related to new version?

I have not upgraded to v 18 because the old version was working just fine. Now all of a sudden the screen isn't resolving right, things are appearing and disappearing. I haven't made any changes, so is this related to the fact that Magix is trying to get people to upgrade? Sorry to be suspicious, but we know other software companies do it .... Will installing the original software over the top help?

While you might " not made any changes" but we knows that win OS has life of it's own.

And indeed you better be off off any MS18 update.

Thanks. The frustrating part is that I didn't upgrade when it was $49 because I didn't need it, and now it's $59. Sorry to be suspicious, but I know other companies do this ....

@Mary-Westheimer
What is the buildnumber of "your VMS 17"?
You are probably using the latest version of this Vegas basic program.
Vegas is since a few years owned by Magix and they have ended the building of new Vegas VMS upgrades.
The program offered by Magix with the nr. 18 is not a Vegas program but an upgrade from older Magix basic programs

@Mary-Westheimer I can promise you that we have not done anything to VMS 17 that would sabotage it to try to get you to buy a product that is not associated with VEGAS Creative Software. My suggestion is for you to create a support ticket so we can help you through the problems you are seeing.

At least try resetting software to default settings. Instructions here. They apply to VMS versions as well. Follow closely.

Thank you for all the responses. VEGASDerek, sorry to be accusatory. I know not all software companies do such things. I will continue monitoring the problem. Thank you to you and everyone who replied!
