need help rendering

Running Movie Studio 11

Created a Ken Burns video using stills and an audio track brought in from Audacity

I want to use this on our web site to describe features.

But, I've tried to render a movie and am having trouble.

I was able to create an .avi output, but when I try to play it in Windows Media Player, the audio is all broken up and the video is of unacceptable quality.  There are so many settings and output templates, and rendering takes a while, I'd rather not have to figure this out by trial and error.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Since your target is internet / website, then try render it as Mainconcept AVC MP4 or SonyAVC MP4, choose an 'internet' template.

(I didn't use VMS, but Vegas Pro (VP), so my reference is based on VP)

Set.

I've created an AVC file (there is also another file with a .avc.sfl extention) but have no idea how to play it back.

Do I need to get it into a website to test to see if it's any good?

set wrote on 10/16/2016, 12:53 PM

AVC? Seems you are choosing the Blu-ray template... No, AVC is only compatible for Blu-ray authoring!

Find the Internet template if there is any.

Confused by "Mainconcept AVC MP4"

But, the options I have are:

AIFF;  .flac;  MainConcept MPEG-2;  mp3;  .ogg;  Sony AVC/MVC;  .pca;  and .w64

No templates mention "internet"

michael-weis, if your Movie Studio 11 (which I do not have) is like Movie Studio Platinum 11, the Internet templates were still  under Sony AVC/MVC. Click the small triangle in front of that heading to see.

+1 vkmast. Here's the screenshot I took from Vegas Pro 13. I think it should appear on Movie Studio 11 too:

Sorry, Set...can't read them.  When I enlarge, fuzzy....

And Magix tech support recommends the AVC.  Now, I'm really confused....

The screenshot below from Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11 shows the .mp4 Internet templates I see when I click the small triangle in front of Sony AVC/MVC in the Render As window, Output Format section.

If you click the picture and still can't read from the shot, are you able to see any Internet templates if you go to your actual Movie Studio 11 Render As window?

vkmast,

I can see your screen shot and these templates are not visible to me (unless they're hidden).  And, I'm in the right place (Rendar As>Output Format>Sony AVC/MVC).  All I see are 2 blue ray options.

!And, I can't figure out how to insert a screen shot here!

Yes, f.i. the Sony AVC codec.

It's not so difficult, look here at Movie Studio HD 11

Cornico,

I can do this - in Movie Studio.

The problem is with rendering as a movie.  I'm having trouble finding the right "template" output format for streaming on the internet.

I agree that they are not visible (and not available) if they are hidden.

Have you unchecked all filters including match project settings?

The "Upload file" button is third from right in the area starting with "B" above the box you write your comment  in.

Probably you are turning ON the 'Show Favorites Only' and 'Match Project Settings' above the render template selections? Try turn it OFF.

As that kind of equals my suggestion, maybe you should really try it, if that's possible in your version.

That's it!!!!!!!   Thank you Set and Vkmast!

now I see all the internet options!

So, I've gone from nothing that works to having many options.  How do I choose?

set wrote on 10/17/2016, 7:21 PM

For quick and easy, choose the Internet 1080 or Internet 720 render setting and try test with it first... (If you want to experiment but impatient rendering the whole sequence, better select region of, say, a minute, and render region only)

Usually you only need to adjust bitrate and frame rate settings. For Youtube upload, they have some recommended settings you can follow.

I in Indonesia (or most Asian & Europe countries) uses PAL standard of 25p rather than 30p, then I need to adjust this setting too.

I don't think the render templates in the basic Movie Studio versions were customizable.
