new NewBlue titler update

paul_w wrote on 2/17/2012, 3:21 PM
Just released, version build 120208.

I am trying to locate a direct download link to it, but cant find one yet.
For now, try your NewBlue 'Help' tab and 'check for updates' see if that works.

PS - unfortunatly, this did not fix my crash on copy/paste issue.

PPS - this is the link supplied from Sony for the update:
www.sonycreativesoftware.com/3DTitler

But its just a redirect to newBlue's site.

Paul.

Rob i had the same issue!

Had to roll back to a previous titler version - then check for updates, its not as easy as it should be!!!

The usual link for the New Blue titler is:

http://www.newbluefx.com/so/sonytitlerpro/

Problem is that it never tells us what the version of the download file is. Personally I think the version should be part of the filename.

Thanks WillemT, that should be it - need to check this is the correct version!

Thanks Paul and Willem, just installed it and shows up the newer build.

Thanks for confirming that Rob.

But I do wish they wouldn't ask for the serial number or the install directory EVERY TIME on updating the product. Surely they can figure out that it's licensed and where it is currently installed. It's the little things ....

Same here, always surprised when it requests your serial.

Looks like the smooth interpolation not saving it's setting upon reloading the project got fixed.

Will further test this build over the next weeks.

thanks, got it....

why oh why can't nb put version either in file name or even in property tab!

and yes, serial no SHOULD be picked up (as if i remember all the serial no's for the software i have - yes i DO have then in a file)......

otherwise haven't knocked it about yet....

Like Rob & Paul, Seeing this thread, went to my installed NB Titler & clicked on check for update, to be told I've got the latest : build 11213 ! I'm not planning on rolling back to an earlier version, as that one crashed. I'll wait and trust that N.B update their "check for update function" on my existing build
vkmast wrote on 2/18/2012, 2:15 AM
With the previous update of NBsonytitlerpro, 'Check for updates' was not working either at first of course. NB / jetdv did act pretty soon after this was brought up on the forum, let's hope for the same.
The link seems to work though.

Duncan, the above version available for download is build 120208 (Thanks RoS).

It is rather lame that nothing, even during installing it, tells you what the build version is. You can only check that using the about when it is opened in Vegas. Really poor show.

Nothing I would have liked to see happened. Oh well, maybe someday. For the time being Pro Type still remains the best we have. For 3D I will just stick to BCC.

Willem.

Edit: cannot believe I misspelled my own name.

The bundled version asks for the serial number during installation. Therefore, every time the installer is run it will ask for the serial number.

The retail version asks for the serial number when you activate it. New installs will not subsequently ask for the serial number.

Ed,
Can you please explain the difference in the install mindset?
Thanks,
Tom

I agree about having to enter the serial, silly.
I have now installed the latest NB version and am using it on the latest Vegas Pro 64bit.
Program crashes when I use the NB Titler
Tom Pauncz wrote on 2/18/2012, 1:39 PM
Added a 'nothing fancy' title and have not seen any crashes using latest version.
Haven't really pushed it yet.
Using Win7-64bit SP1 and VP11/521 (64-bit).

Duncan,
re Help > Check for updates, I got the following response to my query (in 3 hours, on a Sunday, not bad).

From NewBlueFX Customer Support:

Is it the same download/update link for both the Bundled & Retail Version?

Bundled = Vegas only, right? www.newbluefx.com/so/sonytitlerpro

Retail = Vegas/Premiere, right? www.newbluefx.com/shop/videofx/effects/titler-pro.html

(I'm looking for the version to update the version for all NLE's - my current is: v1.0 build 120111)
