NewBlue show as trial since Vegas 12 install.

Has anyone else had this.

I had the NewBlue Starter pack fully functioning in Premiere, Vegas 11 and Movie Studio.

I also had Active Camera, Earthquake, Motion Blur, Spin, Wiggle, Zoom Bur and Shear in Movie Studio.

Since installing Vegas 12 all of these pluggins have stopped working and show as water marked trial versions, in Movie Studio, Vegas 11, Vegas 12 and EVEN IN PREMIERE!

My orginal NewBlue serial doesn't work, Sony gave me a different serial but NewBlue doesn't recognize it either.

I have been trying to get this situation resolved now for 23 days but Sony have yet to help.

Your help question is mis-directed - that won't work.
Contact NewBlue.

3 things.

1. Thanks for the reply.

2. Whatever is contained within Vegas 12 is a Vegas 12 issue, this is nothing to do with NewBlue. I haven't changed, uninstalled or reinstalled any NewBlue products and yet since I installed Vegas 12 it has ruined all my pluggins in multiple pieces of software, one not even Sony's!!!

3. Why should I waste my time contacting a 3rd party, Sony were quick enough to relieve me of hundreds of dollars for this product and now don't want to help. If the issue is with NewBlue, Sony should be liaising with them on my behalf, not suggesting I waste even more of my time doing their job.

tatters,
do a Search , Forum All Forums, username jetdv, by date last 30 days, and you'll get some recent threads to give you an idea of what really is wrong.

For any retail NewBlue products, there should be absolutely zero changes to them simply by installing Vegas Pro 12.

For plugins bundled with Movie Studio, they will not show up in Vegas Pro 12 as Vegas Pro 12 is only 64-bit and previous Movie Studio versions were only 32-bit (SMS does does have a 64-bit option)

If you have specific issues with NewBlue, it would be helpful if you start a help ticket at newbluefx.com.

You do need to tell your story to NewBlue. They are responsive and since your Premiere is also showing "trial" it is clearly a matter of registering NewBlue. Initially I had a problem entering the S/N and NB replied very quickly.

Ed thanks for the reply but this is not a comparability issue. The pluggins show just fine in Vegas 12, but show as a watermarked expired trial.

Something within Vegas 12 has effected the registration of my NewBlue pluggins.

It has even had the same effect on my NewBlue pluggins in Premiere Pro!!!!!! Again making them show as an expired trial.

It has stopped my original serial No working and Sony have supplied a 2nd serial but when I try to use them to re-register my pluggins the 'activate' button remains grayed out.

Buying Vegas 11 and then upgrading to 12 is quite possibly the worst professional software experience I've ever had.

Serena thanks for the reply.

I hope that NewBlue's customer support would blow Sony's out the water (although the bar has been set very, very low).

My issue is that none of this is down to NewBlue, it is all to do with the copy of Vegas 12 I was told to download.

The fault has been caused by Sony, I have raised a ticket with Sony, I don't see why I should get involved with a 3rd party, I've already wasted hours on this with Sony. Why should NewBlue and myself sort out their failings?

I think you'll find that registering NB will fix the problem. You may be correct that V12 overwrote your NB registration, but why go at it the hard way?

I agree with Serena, please start a help ticket at NewBlue. Fully explain the issue so full understanding can be made.
