NewBlueFX Plugins Compatibility with Vegas

Justin-Beaton wrote on 1/28/2023, 11:10 AM

I've had Titler Pro 6 for several years now, and with it, I've always had access to the full line of NewBlueFX (Stylizers, Essentials, Elements, Filters) in Vegas as plugins (I used Vegas Pro 18 currently). I had to do an operating system reinstall, and now Vegas recognizes none of the plugins. My assumption was that all these years, Vegas somehow recognized and loaded the plugins, despite them being a part of Titler Pro, but now I'm not really sure how this even happened. I managed to find all the effects, and they all have the .nbeffect extension, which I don't see how Vegas ever recognized them. Does anyone have any idea 1) how this could have been possible, and 2) how to get Vegas to recognize them again? I've been on a support thread with NewBlue and they don't seem to have any answers. Thanks, all! God Bless!

First of all Vegas Effects is an extra program that is part of VEGAS post so this is in the incorrect category (even though it sounds like it would be the correct category).

Next, the other packages you mention - Stylizers, Essentials, Elements, Filters - are NOT a part of Titler Pro 6 and are not included with Titler Pro. If they were on your old system, they were there for some other reason than Titler Pro 6. Possible reasons I can think of:

  1. You had a bundle that included some effects from those packages?
  2. You had installed TotalFX at some point that includes all effects and transitions?

I see you've contacted NewBlue and been told the products you have. Besides Titler Pro 6, the only current products you have are Transitions 5 Flow and Elements 3 Ultimate. Please follow up with Naomi as she can offer you options that are not available on this forum. All we can tell you on this forum (if I didn't have the ability to look up your information) is that those packages you mentioned are not a part of Titler Pro 6 and, if you had them installed, they came from somewhere else.

For example, VEGAS Pro 14 and Movie Studio 14 included a bundle depending on the version of 14 purchased that included some effects from Essentials, Elements, Stylizers, Transitions, and Filters. However, they should have only worked in version 14.

You did mention Titler Pro 1. It did (accidentally) install some extra effects into VEGAS and was bundled with VEGAS Pro 11 and 12. To use it in Vegas Pro 13 and newer, you needed to purchase a full license for Titler Pro 1 which was available at a special price for over a year after Vegas Pro 13 was released. I'll respond more details to your help ticket at NewBlue concerning that.
