Thanks for the info, quite a lot of messing about really when you consider that everything involved in producing a video is made by Sony.
Laptop : Sony Vaio
Handycams Sony HDR CX410 and Sony HDR CX280
Software : Sony Movie Studio version 13 and Sony DVD Architect Studio version 5

All of this because I have to put about 50 videos onto a Menu driven DVD, I wrongly assumed that using evrything from the same manufacturer would make life easy, it appears that I have lots of work ahead of me.

No, the steps are simple:

Render a DVD compliant video file from Vegas.
Render a DVD compliant audio file from Vegas. You need both video and audio.
Open the video in DVD Architect.

By the way, Sony Creative Software and Sony Consumer Electronics are alike in name only. Completely separate and independent divisions.
