[noob question] Can't seem to create video opacity envelope points

JACKnight wrote on 12/12/2017, 4:40 PM

Hey All,

I put a bug in the corner of the video and when the action starts I want to reduce that bug's opacity, but I can't for the life of me add opacity envelope edit points.

Tried double clicking the cursor (tried both), nada. I can merely pull the "harndle" down and reduce it, but I need to have an automatable opacity reduction.

I'm probably missing something simple...please chime in on this, won't you.

Cheers

You want to use a Track Composite Level envelope. HELP explains how to use it. Opacity is not keyframeable.

Thanks, David. The heIp file is not bad, but I couldn't get any of it to work the way it was described. I wanted to use TC but for some reason it was greyed out.

Did you "1. Select a video track"? See also the link to "Adjusting envelopes" in the same "Applying composite-level automation" Help section, point 4.

INSERT>Track Composite Envelope

Thanks again for your help, David. I think my mind is a bit blurry from editing all day [I'm a music producer running a fairly robust studio here and I've also been editing music all day...d'oh!]...so I'll have another crack at this tomorrow when I'm fresh again.

Cheers
