Not able to unlink video and audio

Hi all,

I'm new in using video editors so my problem could be a bit simple, but I haven't found any post about it.

I downloaded Movie Studio 14 trial version and installed it on my PC. Then I created a new project and added video file there. Now I want to remove audio from the video. I tried to select it and click "U" button on keyboard or right click on the audio line and select Group->Remove from, but the video is still connected with audio. This means that video and audio are still moved together and when I select audio line and click Delete button, it is removed together with video.

Auto Ripple is turned off.

Does anyone know on what is the problem?

Auto Ripple Off

Ignore Event Grouping On

Select audio and press delete

It should work as it works for me.

Thanks EricLNZ.

I've downloaded the basic Movie Studio version (not Platinum) and it doesn't have Ignore Event Grouping option. Is it any other way to split audio and video in basic version or should I upgrade to Platinum one?

Sorry for the confusion but I didn't realise you had the basic version. Yes, suggest you download the Platinum trial. I've never used the basic version but I gather from the comments of more experienced users it's best avoided due to what it doesn't have.

Eric's right. Meanwhile, see if this works in the basic version. In the Project media window, right click a file and drag to the timeline and release. See if you get this option.

Thank Erik and vkmast for your answers.

I have an option to add only video when moving it with a right mouse click in basic version. Issue is resolved now.
