Payment Processor Issues

I attempted to purchase Vegas Movie Studio 17 that was being offered at 50% off at $39.99. I signed in, went through all the payment info, and upon trying to finalize the payment, it was denied. I tried several times. I was told that my payment info was incorrectly entered or to contact support. I changed web browsers and looked up the deal again. This time I couldn't find the 50% off. I then found it at 37% off at $49.99. I again attempted to purchase it all with the exact same issue. I then went to the Best Buy site and had to purchase it for a physical delivery & now have to wait 5 days. I used the exact same payment method with Best Buy without an issue. I chose Vegas Movie Studio because it is my preference; however, in the future I would find alternative movie editing software because now I am suspicious of why there was an issue with the payment processor. Additionally, there wasn't any customer support available to contact.

@80zBby This post on the Magix Community Forum may possibly explain your problem

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/2-factor-authentication--1272480/

Magix are located in the EEC. Best Buy are presumably located in the US where I assume you are. Consequently the 2 factor authentication requirement wouldn't apply with Best Buy as it's a local, non EEC area, transaction.

A good find, @EricLNZ. In this forum's Support section there is this article (updated 3/9/2021). A note in the end there: "If you have any further questions or issues, please send us a message at infoservice@magix.net".

Btw, re the EEC: "Upon the formation of the European Union in 1993, the EEC was incorporated into the EU and renamed the European Community (EC). In 2009, the EC formally ceased to exist and its institutions were directly absorbed by the EU. This made the Union the formal successor institution of the Community."

@vkmast EEC/EU- I'm usually years behind!

Whilst I'm on the other side of the planet 2 factor authentication appears to be taking place here. With transferring money overseas I'm used to having to receive an authentication on my mobile, but it also recently happened when ordering "click & collect" items from a local retailer.
