Picture in Picture Border

When I make a pic in pic and place a border around the inserted pic, the border does not stay on the pic. I removed the inserted pic to a location without anything underneath it and created a border-that worked. I then , placed the bordered pic over the other pic but, the border does not shrink as I reduce the size. How can I place borders on pic in pics?

pepegot1,
are you using the Sony Cookie Cutter PIP? Did you resize the border also?

See also the NewBlue PIP, if you have it (not included in all versions).

I did not use the cookie cutter. I just placed one on top of the other and added the border and then resized. The border was around the wrong track-the one below. I want it above.

I assume you are applying the "Border" FX to your photo, right?

All will be fine if you go to your FX chain (i.e. click on the FX icon on your photo on the timeline) and drag the "Pan/Crop" box over so it occurs after the Border FX in the effects chain.

Look at the screen image vkmast posted above. Yours will be similar but will have the Border FX instead of CookieCutter. See the "Pan/Crop" box in the little chain of effects? Grab it and drag it to the right so it comes after the Border FX.

This will tell Vegas: "put a border around my photo first, then shrink it down smaller".

It worked like a charm. As I was experimenting with it, I was able to make a collage, small of course, two pics and zoom the pics in and out in sequence. Though the nuances are many, the power of the program more than compensates for them. It took me a while to realize that
