Nothing fancy, just some backyard leaves with a Resolve preset.

@Former user - Love it. Gently inviting me to watch further whilst being lulled by the “Hallelujah” song lyrics.

I see we are all needing to reflect on 2020, with many, many “leaves” having fallen, but sense new beginnings. Thanks DT, much needed.

I shot this with three Sony HD cameras and a GoPro Hero 7. It was a fun video to put together. Obviously the main focus was on the various performances and getting the best take but I thought it would be good to capture the moments on video as well. We recorded the track in my studio and I edited the footage in Vegas 16.

This may not be one of Santana’s most popular instrumentals but it has always been one of my favourite songs! Thanks to my two very good friends, Dave and Larry, we put together a version that I’ve wanted to do for the longest time! It was recorded and videoed in my studio in Johannesburg about 4 weeks ago.

My first thought was to do a completely different take on the song but after listening to the original I realised that the song is perfect so why fix what aint broke! This is therefore my tribute to a guitar player who has been and still is a great influence in my life.

The only change that we made was to the length of the song... the original version being just too short! Dave put together the new arrangement, played the keys and bass; and Larry played the drums and percussion.
I hope that you enjoy our version of this beautiful song.

Cheers

Peter.

Participating in last week's local Virtual Ultra Marathon Relay team 4 people where each runner must run 25K distance - for total 100K distance.

The personal video target is Instagram 1 minute post, and start with 16:9 editing first:

and since the video cannot be cropped from 16:9 to 1:1 (too much picture 'lost'), I decide to make as:

The challenge is to fit the 'whole experience' as one minute...

It is indescribably beautiful and a pleasure to hear and see.
A big BRAVO!! to everyone involved, and especially to you, set.
I bow to you!

PS:
I usually hate it when there is (too) much movement in the picture.
But you've managed to let the images flow in such a way that you think you're lying dreaming on the water and just drifting on a river of sounds and voices.

Great job, Set! I can only imagine the time spent assembling that opus.

set wrote on 12/19/2020, 4:28 PM

Wish I count the hour of works 🙈 - but admit it that this is also my first time 'crawling deeper' in the 'new' software of 'VEGAS Effects', so, a bit trial and error as well to understand how the workflow is (and maximizing the layer's playground space). So, there are hours wasted as well during the editing's trial and error, last minute's changes, late stock footage coming 😫 (so must make it 'reverse-editable' in case needed to make it easy for 'later insertion'), and also considering the 'short time' for every part scenes.

BUT, thankfully now from this 'craziness', I able to largely understand it, and how to manage where & when to do certain task in VEGAS Pro, where & when to do it in VEGAS Effects. And considering I might the only VEGAS Pro / VEGAS Post user within my community... well, I try my best of it, especially the requirement on the very last scene where each singer disperse & flying far (and represent what this song is), where I asked here, but in the end I make it manual keyframe movement for each (and you can't apply effect to the 'child composition' layer in the parent composition sequence as I already make it 3D layer - and none of any 'Particle' 'shortcuts' seems satisfying for my (or audience's) scene's expectation).

*Thanks everyone for the responses, glad to hear if my video may be motivating and may keep you up... Even though this virtual choir online video is dedicated to my (our) Santo Aloysius high school, I dedicated this to all VEGAS users, and especially VEGAS Team as well for their hard work on keep improving. Also, wherever your Elementary / High School / College time are on your adult time..., hope this video represent to your adult time memories! 😊 (*The only way to see each photograph for every 'School life memories' scene might be pausing it - you are welcome to do that 😅)

@set  ... what can I say that hasn't already been said? You have created a stunning video - congratulations!

It used to be not all that many decades ago that we'd get an invitation to visit a friend or relative to view some school or travel photos. Of course we'd say 'yes' but in reality our eyes would glaze over and we'd think to ourselves, "The horror!". But the wonders of NLEs like Vegas Pro have enabled those formerly dreaded events to become, in the hands of talented editors, highly enjoyable and evocative trips into the past. Congrats again set.

Hi all,

This is a short advert clip, in which I've used chromakeying for the first time 😉

The background is a clip of a city placed behind a solid-colour event (approx 50% opacity) with a grid mask on it (created by hand). The city video itself was effected with Vegas Defocus plug-in.

The text was animated using Pan/Crop, using 3 text tracks.

Enjoy
