Problem activating NewBlue Video Essentials VI

PJCHATMAN wrote on 5/31/2014, 9:08 AM
While I do not see any NewBlueFX watermark on my events, when I click the Activate button it tells me there is an error in activation. But I get an email congratulating for Video Essentials VI activation (several emails, since i did it many times entering my name different ways). I mean there was Serial Number like all the other products that came VP13.

Is it, like Titler Pro 1 and some BorisFX products, that the Activate button is always visible even though the product is in fact activated?

To activate Video Essential VI officially, do this:

[It essentially (no pun intended) works anyway. Meaning you won't get a Trial pop screen. Well, I did but only once, after I clicked the Activate button.]

1. Add an event to the timeline.
2. Click either Event FX.. icon or select VE VI from Plug-ins window (Video/FX/VEVI)
3. Select any VE VI FX, add it the event, and open it.
4. Click the ABOUT button.
5. Select Activate.
6. You should now get the Activate dialog, enter your info and press Activate or Submit I forget.
7. THEN, unlike clicking the Activate button, you should see a Congratulations notice,
along with e-mail confirmation notice.

If that doesn't work for you... well, I tried.

OK .. so that worked for me this time - thx PJCHATMAN.

However, the only FX I see under VE6 is ChromaKey Pro, which I bought as a single FX when they offered some unbundled stuff a while back.

That cannot be right. I wonder if I have uninstall and re-install VE6.

If you purchased the retail version of VE6, you do not need to install this version.

If you had any versions of VE6 previously installed (which can happen if, for example, you purchased a single effect in the VE6 package), please reboot, uninstall VE6, and then install the VE6 bundle.

The VE6 bundle will automatically activate. You do not need to enter a serial number. It will ask you to register it, though.
