Problems with v11 and DVD render glitches

Hi to everyone on the forum :-)

I recently upgraded to v11 from v10 and seen to be aware of a new issue. When I am rendering to a DVD output (the supplied 'Main Concept DVD Architect PAL Widescreen' format) I am experiencing visual glitches in the movie; the movement briefly pauses and breaks up for around quarter to half a second or so, then continues properly. This is a purely random effect and doesn't happen at the same location each subsequent render, and can happen partway through a clip so it's not necessarily a problem with an edit. The audio isn't affected and continues perfectly.

When I render to an AVCHD format (Sony AVC/MVC, AVCHD 1920x1080-50i) the movie plays back perfectly without any glitches. My project is constructed in 1920x1080x25i from an HD camera so I realise very little recompression is happening when I output to full HD.

I haven't tried burning the movie to a DVD yet (I can't afford to keep throwing away DVD's) but I'm a little perplexed as to why I am experiencing glitches on what should be a fairly straightforward format. I generally use this file format to view draft movies on my computer or to give to people on a memory stick to view as well.

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated, many thanks in advance :-)

System: Vegas Movie Studio 11 build 283, Win7 64 bit, Intel i7-2600CPU quad core @ 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM, 24GB paging memory, 4GB virtual memory.

John,
why don't you try burning to a rewritable DVD to see if this happens there too. I have done quite a few discs with the very same PAL template (v11) and haven't noticed similar issues so far.

Jack,
as the OP was posting the same question in another forum too, I did give him a link to your thread there and it seems something similar may indeed be going on.
