Purchasing Vegas Pro

xander2 wrote on 12/10/2024, 5:19 AM

Hello! I am new to the Vegas Pro community, but not Sony Vegas Pro as a software. I have tried Sony Vegas Pro 14 and 18 on different occasions, and I have a fair amount of experience with these programs at this point. I really love the simplistic look combined with the advanced skills this program offers, and that is why I am contemplating to finally purchase it for myself.

I am not in doubt with the program itself, due to the impressive look at what power it provides, however, I am definitely going for the perpetual purchase, and I am wondering how I would be able to recover and download the program on other devices if I ever need to. Will it be stored on my profile on this webpage, and if so - where?

Thanks!

Hello @xander2 and welcome to VEGAS Pro Community here.

Please note that VEGAS Pro now is no longer Sony's, and it is now owned by VEGAS Creative Software, under MAGIX Software GmbH : https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/

As for the Perpetual version of VEGAS Pro, you are allowed to install and use in 2 active machines. Should you need to recover and redownload, you are able to do so by login in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com , in "My Products" section. Here you can manage your software activations in the machines, and remove it if no longer needed for use in the future newer machines.

Hope helps.

Thank you for replying!
I logged in to the Service Center, but I do not have a tab called "My products", this may be due to me not owning any products yet? Will I forever be able to find Vegas Pro on that webpage, and download it on a new computer if I were to purchase a new one someday? Hence the word, perpetual ...
If I'm not mistaken, it's also possible to remove Vegas Pro from one of, or both, the two devices it's active on via the "Service Center"?

I can't say if "forever", but please see e.g. the current situation re my VEGAS Pro 15 perpetual license on the "Service Center".

@xander2

I see. So, the license will be linked to this account, and it will stay on my account for an unlimited amount of time.
Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!
