I bought and am using sony movie studio 12 platinum. I have to do a clean install on my computer (i.e. wipe it clean). I no longer have the installation CD for studio 12 platinum. Is there a trial version I can download and then register with my serial number? Is it on my computer somewhere I can save to re-install?

Yes, look for moviestudiope12.0.1184.exe. Build 896 is ok as well.

I'm assuming you have a serial number in the box and this should work with a downloaded version.

The older Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13 Platinum Edition from http://download.sonycreativesoftware.com/current/moviestudiope13.0.955_64bit.exe
As far as I know, these are functionally the same but just differently branded. You serial number should work in either. I would tend to download the one that matches the branding on your box.
