Reinstallation

The software wouldn't open. So I deleted the program and tried to download again. Magix had details of my ownership of Video Mover Platinum 17 but after successfully downloading the software I was told that I had exceeded the number of simultaneous computers I could run it on. That could only refer to computers I no longer use. I only used it on the current computer. I can't find out how to put this right. Movie Studio Platinum 17.0/ Windows 11 Home/ Dell XPS15 7590

Go to your MAGIX My Account and under My Products find the listing for your MVP17 and de-activate any of the two activations that apply to no longer used computers (you can only do this once per month via My Account), and then try activating your newly installed MVP17 again.

It's usually a good idea to de-activate in the program itself if possible a program like MVP17 before uninstalling it to avoid issues like this.

As @Dexcon advises. From the FAQ, item 9:

"You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later) simultaneously on 2 devices. VEGAS Pro 365 can be used on 1 device at a time. To deactivate a device, so you can activate a different one, visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month. In VEGAS Pro 14.0 or later, you can also choose Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required."

Applies to VEGAS Movie Studios incl. VMSP 17 as well.
