Reinstalling Vegas Pro 11 to Windows 10

Adam-Rowlison wrote on 2/3/2022, 5:17 AM

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me.

I had an older laptop die with Windows 10 running Sony Vegas Pro 11.

I cannot install Vegas Pro 11 to Windows 10 on my new laptop.

I have used Vegas since 2006 so it's what I want to continue using.

I just want to reinstall it and use it asap.

Currently have all the codes and install exe files.

I get a message from the online portal once I do the install saying the system will restart and nothing happens.

I just want to be able to edit my footage without learning new software.

Thanks for reading.

Adam

I believe that Sony Vegas Pro 11 came with both 32bits and 64 bits versions. As Windows 10 is 64bits, are you installing the 64bits version of Vegas Pro 11?

I've just successfully installed Vegas Pro 11 (build 701) on my several years old laptop but with Windows 11 - which should possibly be more difficult than a Windows 10 install.

Currently have all the codes and install exe files

What do you mean by 'codes'? Have you installed 3rd party 'codec' packs from the Vegas Pro 11 era - some 10 years ago? If yes, those 3rd party codecs may be the problem.

I have the activation codes / serial numbers etc from the orginal upgrade.

As far as I remember it's the original files that were downloaded at the time.

No modifications or 3rd party codecs

Thanks Dexcon

Another possibility is that that you've reached the maximum number of activations for VP11. Please see point 9 in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-faqs-and-troubleshooting-guides--104787/

You may need to send a 'reset' request to MAGIX.

Ok that could be a possibility, that that you've reached the maximum number of activations for VP11

I will contact support

Thanks again for your help

@Adam-Rowlison If your "original files" do not include the last update #701 of VP11, see here, points 3 and 4 for download links.
