I appreciate any help!

How big is your file? VMS doesn't render files that are bigger than 2 GB.

MTS support is vastly improved in VMS 11. Give the 30 day trial a try.

VMS doesn't render files that are bigger than 2 GB.
That is incorrect.

musicvid, I used VMS 11 and rendering was a crap shoot (VMS 10 was as well). It might render a big file and it might not. Usually it wouldn't. I was told, on this forum, that because VMS was 32 bit it wouldn't render files that were bigger than 2 GB (without the alleged fix that is on this forum somewhere).

I upgraded to SVP 11 64 bit and so far rendering has not been a problem (well not nearly as much as VMS).

As a side note about SVP 11, I'm now having other problems that are causing me to wonder if I'll ever be able to render correctly with either one of these programs on a consistent level.

Not at all true. 32-bit refers to how much memory the software can utilize, but the rendering file size limit is due to the file storage system on the drives. FAT32 was limited to 4GB files and i've been able to render files that size back since Vegas' earliest days. NTFS supports enormously huge files and i was able to render 100GB+ files with Movie Studio (Vegas Studio) version 2.

Chienworks and musicvid are right here as usual of course. Chasmcq22 was probably told on this forum that VMStudio could not utilize more than 2GB of RAM (without the fix or before v11 build 283 on a Win7 or Vista 64bit ).

They are not right when it comes to my computer. It might be concerning yours. Rendering is a crap shoot with a huge file using VMS 11. I haven't tried with the latest build so I can't answer that. Will try and see when I finish my latest video and get back to you on this.

I've been using SVP 11 and it renders fine what wouldn't render fine using VMS 11. Not including the latest build of VMS 11.

I am back using VMS 11 on my current video because it has better playback preview than SVP 11. It doesn't make sense (you would think) but right now it is true for me.
